According to the person who shared this,
It happened in the village of Ogwe, somewhere near Aba. The Nigerian Army arrested this individual who identified himself as ‘Mathias Kanu’ on the suspicion that he was a Biafran soldier. They took him to their commanding officer, Lt Lamurde, who at the time was with some international journalists covering the war.
The man kept denyig that he was a Biafran soldier. What the camera does not show is that Lt Lamurde played a trick on the man and shouted ‘Attention!’, and the man complied thereby exposing himself as a soldier.
Satisfied that Mathias Kanu was indeed a Biafran soldier, Lt Lamurde ordered that he be tied up. Lt Lamurded assured the journalists that Mathias would not be harmed but be taken to their headquarters. Shortly after that, Lt Lamurde summarily executed Mathias Kanu.
What Lamurde did not remember was that the journalists video camera was still rolling and recording everything.
As the story goes, the journalists took the video to Lt Lamurdes commanding officer, Lt Colonel Benjamin Adekunle, who after viewing the video, ordered Lamurde’s arrest.
Lamurde was arrested and court martialed and subsequently executed in Portharcourt.
