A bombing attack targeted at a mosque in Adamawa state has claimed the lives of no fewer than 30 persons.
The suicide attack was reported to have occurred at about 5:20am and carried out by a teenage suicide bomber, at Kunu Araha, a suburb in Mubi North area of Adamawa state.
Reports indicate that the suicide attack which occurred today was triggered by a yet to be identified teenage boy who was clad in a suicide vest.
The Adamawa Police spokesman, Othman Abubakar, while confirming the bombing revealed that more than 30 persons lost their lives in the mosque attack.
Othman Abubakar added that several other persons were injured in the attack and have since been transported to the hospital where they are receiving medical attention.
He said: “We were made to understand that there was a bomb blast at a mosque in Mubi and over 30 lives were lost. A boy about 17-year-old wearing a suicide vest entered the mosque along with other worshippers. Immediately after the prayers, he detonated the bomb. Many of the wounded are receiving treatment at various hospitals in Mubi North where the attacks occurred around Kunu Araha area.”
