For blasting the Federal Government over the non payment of their allowances and benefits, some players and coaches of Nigeria’s Super Falcons team might face a lifetime ban and to never represent the country at any sports event forever.
This is according to an insider in the Ministry of Sports who spoke on the condition of anonymity. The source added that USA-based striker Francisca Ordega is leading the pack of players to be banned for life.
Said the source:
“I can categorically state here that the name Ordega will never be heard or seen in a Super Falcons team list again. This I was told by another top official of the football house.
“No less than 10 of these players could be banned for life for ridiculing their fatherland before the international media and henceforth, the NFF may draw up a code of conduct to guide against future occurrences.
“The coaches and officials are not left out as they could lose their jobs for not standing firm in support of the federation when it matters most.”
Recall that the Super Falcons emerged victorious at the African Women’s Cup of Nations after defeating Cameroon 1 nil but the victoroy has been overshadowed by the protest of non payment of the outstanding benefits to the team by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
