A 17-year-old is facing charges after a school bus was stolen and driven through Hamilton over the holidays.
Police were called to a Tim Hortons in the area of Fennell Avenue and Upper Ottawa Street on Tuesday, at approximately 10:25 p.m.
Officers were told that three teenagers were seen getting out of a school bus. An investigation revealed that the bus had been stolen from a location in Stoney Creek the week before.
In a statement Thursday, police said they’d located the teens, and were told the bus was stolen “after one male needed a ride home.”
“He had kept the bus tucked away over the holidays and today decided to pick up some friends and cruise the City streets in the school bus,” the statement said.
Following the investigation, a 17-year-old Oakville boy was arrested.
