Pope Francis Seeks Forgiveness Over Sexual Abuses Within Catholic Churches

The leader of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis, has in his recent address sought for forgiveness for the sexual abuses and other related offences which have been linked to the denomination.

The Pope while speaking before Chilean dignitaries in Santiago de Chile stated that he feels pained at the irreparable damage caused to children by some ministers of the church who were alleged to have sexually abused the children.

The Pope in his apology said: “I am one with my brother bishops, for it is right to ask for forgiveness and make every effort to support the victims.”

He added: “I am one with my brother bishops, for it is right to ask for forgiveness and make every effort to support the victims.

“Although, we have committed ourselves to ensuring that such things do not happen again.”

The apology comes hot on the heels of report which surfaced online of a Peru-based Catholic sect whose founder has been accused of sexual and psychological abuse leading several Chileans to abandon the church over such report.
