A former PDP spokesman, Olisa Metuh, who is standing trial for alleged money laundering of N400million appeared in court today on a stretcher.
The appearance came after the court compelled him to appear before it today or be sent back to jail.
Recall that the N400million alleged to have been embezzled by Metuh is part of the funds linked with former National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (rtd).
Olisa Metuh however in concordance with the mandate of the court appeared before in on a stretcher as he was wheeled into the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday.
Metuh’s legal counsel, Emeka Etiaba, had previously informed the court that his client had been on admission at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital for an undisclosed ailment.
The lead counsel, Dr. Onyechi Ikpeazu, however further informed the court that attempts to get Metuh’s doctor to give a timeframe for which he would be released from hospital had proved abortive.
The judge, Justice Abang, in his ruling had said “On account of the condition I have seen him in the courtroom.”
He maintained that the court must be firm in its judgement and in view of Metuh’s current state has adjourned the case till March 14, 15 and 16.
