The alleged criminals responsible for the New Year’s massacre in Rivers State have reportedly been killed in a joint operation handled by the Nigerian Army and the State Security Service.
The alleged mastermind, Prince Igwedibia, was reported to have been killed on Saturday evening according to sources close to the case.
However, in the wake of the recent report, neither the army nor the SSS have released an official statement on the incident.
Sources close to the case stated that the suspect’s corpse has since been taken to the 6 Division of the Nigerian Army in Port Harcourt on Sunday morning.
The Rivers Director of SSS, Tosin Ajayi, when contacted by news source on the credibility of the report declined to give any comment as regards the operation that saw Don Wani killed and some of his cohorts injured.
