Lagos state starts relocation of Ikoyi Prisons to Epe

The Lagos State Government has entered discussions with the Federal Government to relocate the Ikoyi Prisons to the outskirt the state in Epe.

The State’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Adeniji Kazeem made this revelation on Friday while speaking at a media parley with judiciary correspondents and editors in Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.

Kazeem while speaking on the relocation stated that the prison, which was established in 1955, has since outlived its suitability especially for the present location adding that there is a need for its relocation.
