Kogi Governor reacts to reports that he gifted Masqurades Cars and N2million each

The executive Governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello, has reacted to a report in the media which holds that he gifted Masqurades in the state the sum of N2million each along with cars.

The state governor in reaction to the wide report has stated that there is no iota of truth to the news in circulation.

Addressing the report while speaking to state house correspondents after he observed the Ju’maat prayer at the Aso Rock mosque, the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, said nothing of such nature had happened under his administration.

He said: “I think I’m just hearing that for the first time. But let me just tell you that in Kogi State, first we promote culture, two we don’t give millions to masquerades.

“In our culture Masquerades are ancestors, I don’t know how a masquerade will go and spend money? Is it in the grave?

“They are supposed to be spirits and I don’t know how masquerades will spend money. There is nothing of that nature at all.”
