Job Scandal: Woman Allegedly Scams Nigerian Man of N4million

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has on January 22nd, 2018 arraigned a woman identified as Ijeoma Ugwah before honourable Justice Dije Abdu Aboki of the Kano State High Court on a one count charge of obtaining by false pretense.

The complianant in the suit filed had accused the woman of whom he was introduced to by one Engineer Johnson of defrauding him to the tune of N4,000,000 (Four Million Naira Only) to get a job under the Goodluck Jonathan led administration.

The complainant revealed that he paid the requested sum of N4 million to the woman after which she assured him that he would receive a call from Reuben Abati, the then Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to former president, Goodluck Jonathan.

The complainant added that since he made the payment, he had neither heard from the accused nor Reuben Abati, prompting him to petition the Commission.

The accused woman however pleaded not guilty before the court and the presiding judge, Justice Aboki, in view of the plea adjourned the matter to January 25th, 2018 for hearing of bail application.

The Judge further ordered that the accused person be remanded in EFCC custody.
