The official residence of the Imo State Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere, was razed yesterday by fire.
The fire incident was reported to have been suspectedly triggered by a nearby inferno in the bush.
The fire was reported to have eventually spread to the visitors waiting hall area of the residence, razing down the entire building.
Some of the properties consumed in the fire include one of the Press Crew buses stationed within the premises and other items estimated to worth millions of naira.
The inferno was abated from spreading to other parts of the building by the timely intervention of security attachés who were later joined by the men of fire service.
The Deputy Governor has however called for an investigation into the incident.
