Coming following the statement issued by the Nigerian Police declaring Nigerian artiste, Burna Boy, wanted in connection with the theft and assault case involving another Nigerian artiste, Mr 2Kay, the Nigerian rapper’s management has issued a statement revealing Burna Boy’s whereabouts.
Recall that the singer whose manager has been arrested alongside three others was reported to have contracted his manager and other arrested suspects to teach the Nigerian singer, Mr 2Kay a lesson.
Burna Boy who has since been declared wanted by the Nigerian Police has gone underground as his whereabouts remain unknown.
In reaction to his wanted status, the singer’s management which had in a prior statement revealed that he had honoured police invitation, a claim which the Police disagreed with has revealed in a recent interview with Saturday Beats that Burna Boy is not on the run.
The rapper’s management source stated that he had instead been in the studio working hard at his craft.
The source added: “Burna Boy is neither on the run nor avoiding the police; he is not guilty. I cannot tell you his exact whereabouts but he is in the country recording. Also, you should know that as the festive season approaches, demand for his services would be on the increase, so he is preparing for appearances as well.
“Initially, when he was invited, he could not go to the station because of his engagements, so his father went to the police station in his stead. But now that the police have insisted that they want to see him personally, he would surely honour their invitation. He is not guilty of the charges levelled against him.”
Recall that Burna Boy’s management had earlier in the week released a statement which reads: “The management of Burna Boy (Spaceship Entertainment) hereby makes an official statement regarding the news that Burna Boy has been declared wanted by the police. We use this medium to categorically state that Burna Boy is not in any way involved in the robbery and beating up of Grafton Records artiste, Mr. 2Kay on October 22, 2017.
“The first and only invitation Burna Boy has ever received from the police was issued yesterday, November 20, 2017. This invitation was honoured yesterday, November 20, 2017 and it has been made clear that he is happy to cooperate with the police as best as he can. It is pertinent to note that he was served an arrest warrant. We are confident that the Nigerian police will deal with this fairly and professionally.”
