During his Sunday sermon on August 28 2016, Rev. Fr, Stephen Sserunjogi of Lubaga Cathedral Parish, under Kampala Archdiocese in Uganda gave parents an advice many people have described as awkward.
“Children, especially those above 18, have to be taught self-control and how to protect their lives by not drinking too much.
“Just talking badly about alcohol will be of little help. Let them have some beers or wine and decide for themselves whether it’s good or bad.”
However, rather than download the preaching hook, line and sinker, some social media users have called out the 69-year-old priest. Someone said the advice is just like introducing children to sex and then asking them to make their decision over whether to continue or not.
Dearies, what’s your take on this controversial conversation?
