French Fashion Icon, Givenchy Dies At 91

French man and fashion icon, Hubert de Givenchy, known for setting the template for ladylike chic in the 1950s and 1960s has been reported dead.

The fashion icon whose restrained style still informs the Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II and older American and Chinese socialites dress till date died at the age of 91.

The French aristocratic fashion designer whose reign lasted the past four decades was before his death credited to have dressed the likes of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Grace Kelly and memorably Audrey Hepburn.

Givenchy however sold off his fashion house in 1988 to luxury brand, LVMH, and proceeded to retire a few years after the business move.
