The sacked Vice President of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa, has been sworn in as Zimbabwe’s president.
The ceremony held at a packed stadium in the country’s capital, Harare.
The ceremony came after the dramatic resignation of the nation’s president, Robert Mugabe who ruled the nation for 37 years.
The former vice president who was dismissed by Mugabe some weeks ago was also announced as the new Zanu-PF party leader.
Mnangagwa, following his sack from office had fled the country until the military takeover which occurred some days ago leading to Mugabe’s exit from power.
Mnangagwa returned from exile on Wednesday.
