Former Governorship candidate sues student lover over N750k expenses

A former governorship candidate in Kwara state on the Alliance for Democracy, AD platform, Senator Sulyman Makanjuola Ajadi, has sued a student of Kwara State University, KWASU, identified as Haleemat Temitope Abdulazeez, for defrauding him to the tune of N750k.

According to TheNationalPilot, the former Governorship candidate stated in the motion ex-parte dated 31st August 2017, that the “plaintiff/applicant’s claim against the defendant is for recovery of debt and/or liquidated money demanded.”

Ajadi, according to report met his student lover two years ago via Instant Messaging platform, WhatsApp, and has since then been in contact with the lady until she refused his marriage proposal.

The money demanded by the former governorship candidate is according to him the amount expended on her education.

“When she finally came to my house at Foyeke Street, Tanke area, she knelt, crying that I should please help her secure admission into either University of Ilorin, Al-Hikmah University or KWASU. I promised to help after asking of her parent.”

Ajadi in the motion noted that after Haleemat secured admission at KWASU, she asked him for the sum of N550,000 to offset her school fees with the excuse that her father promised to pay whenever government paid his 14-month salary arrears.

The relationship however took a drastic turn when Ajadi jokingly proposed to Haleemat.

Ajadi noted that after a week, Haleemat approached him for yet another N200,000 loan to help her parents.

“Now that they’ve collected the money, things have changed. They hardly pick calls.”
