FA fines Chelsea and Man City for player fight

Contrary to predictions that Chelsea would be fined for not cautioning their players after a 22-man bust-up during a 3 – 1 win against Manchester City at the Etihad on December 3, the Londoners were given a fine of £100,000.
City whose two players Aguero and Ferdinando were given red cards for starting the fight – Aguero stumped David Luiz while Ferdinando shoved Fabregas – got a £35,000 fine as both teams pleaded guilty of breaching FA Rule E20(a) on Tuesday 13 December.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte had previously called the decision to fine or deduct points from the Premier League leaders “a joke”, wondering why Chelsea would be culpable for a situation caused by Manchester City players.
