The remains of the late Nigerian Second Republic Vice President, Dr. Alex Ekwueme, ha finally arrived Igbo land after it had been on tour in the country.
The arrival in Igbo land comes as part of plans ahead of the burial.
The body of the deceased politician landed yesterday at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu at about 2:08 pm.
The remains of the deceased was received by the Southeast Governors’ Forum led by its chairman and governor of Ebonyi State, Chief David Umahi.
David Umahi, while receiving the remains of Dr. Alex Ekwueme was accompanied by governors of Anambra State, Dr. Willie Obiano; Enugu State, Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha.
Other dignitaries present at the airport include the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo; Anglican Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Archbishop Emmanuel Chukwuma; National Chairman of United Progressives Party, UPP, Chief Chekwas Okorie; Speaker Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Ogbonnia Nwaifuru who led all the members of Ebonyi State House of Assembly.
