Estate Surveyor Boss Slumps, Dies While Delivering Speech At ICPC Event

The Chairman, Estate Surveyors and Valuers Registration Board of Nigeria, Mr. Olayinka Sonaike, has been reported dead.

The Estate Surveryor boss was reported to have slumped and died while delivering a speech at an event organised by the ICPC.

Reports indicate that Sonaike who had been acting as the chairman of the board since March 2017 was invited as a resource person to the one-day event organised by the agency.

The event was reported to have held at the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday.

Arriving as a guest speaker at the event, 74-year-old Sonaike was reported to be the first of the guests to arrive at the event which was slated to start by 9:00am but began an hour later.

Around 1:00pm, Sonaike, while preparing to make his presentation was reported to have picked up the microphone and subsequently slumped.

ICPC nurses were reported to have administered an immediate first aid before he was transported into a vehicle and rushed to the Limi Hospital which is located in the next compound.

He was certified dead within the hour.
