Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested the former Secretary to Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal.
The arrest comes following the 18-page letter addressed to the Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari and written by a former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo.
According to reports, Mr. Lawal was arrested Wednesday.
Mr. Lawal’s arrest comes following his recent sack from office after he was indicted by a presidential panel which was saddled with the responsibility of investigating the misuse of funds meant for people displaced by Boko Haram.
Recall that Lawal had earlier been indicted by the Senate under the leadership of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki.
The arrest comes after Olusegun Obasanjo in his letter accused the Nigerian president, Muhammadu Buhari, of condoning corruption in his government.
