Nigerian woman and survivor of the 2014 Ebola attack in the country, Adaora Okoli, has earned a feature on Time Magazine.
The Nigerian woman who admitted that the year 2014 was remarkable and indeed changed her life stated that she didn’t know in the moment if she was doomed to die or would survive the deadly attack.
Adaora Okoli was infected by a patient suffering from Ebola who checked into the hospital where she was working and in the process of treating the patient, infected her.
She said during the interview: “You don’t know if it’s going to end with your death.”
Adaora has ever since surviving the deadly attack dedicatd her life to the research, treatment, and prevention of future epidemics.
She is currently studying at the Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.
She, Adaora, was on Thursday, named as one of Bill Gates‘ 5 “Heroes in the Field.”
