Deputy senate president of the National House Of Assembly Ike Ekweremadu has described the projected purchase of cars for members of the House in a multi-billion naira deal as very necessary.
“It is not a crime to buy vehicles for the use of Senate committees. This would enable members of the various committees to carry out their assignments without hitches,” Ekweremadu said.
Speaking on the percived exhobitant proce of the project (rumored as 4.7bn naira), the senator added:
“It is an indisputable fact that the exchange rate for the dollar has hit the skies in these days and age and this has adversely affected every other commodity in the country.”
