Court Rules against Patience Jonathan In N2 billion right enforcement suit against EFCC

The Federal High Court siting in Abuja presided over by Justice John Tsoho has on Tuesday thrown out the N2 billion fundamental human rights enforcement suit filed before it by the wife of the former president Goodluck Jonathan, Dame Patience Jonathan against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

The presiding judge, Justice Tsoho, while delivering his judgement in the case against the anti-graft agency stated that the former first lady was unable to sustain her claims that her fundamental human rights have been violated by the agency.

The court further stated that Patience Jonathan’s case was weakened largely by the ongoing nature of the EFCC’s case against her, a fact which had been stated during the deposition of the agency wherein it stated that the large sums of money traced to Dame Patience Jonathan may have been proceeds of crime and criminal activities.
