Earlier this week, former minister of Power and chairman of the SEESS, Bart Nnaji, confirmed that Nigerian leader Muhammadu Buhari will be present at the South-East Economic and Security Summit (SEESS) holding in Enugu today Thursday December 22.
However, in another development, President Buhari is said to have made a u-turn on the visit. A reliable source with knowledge of the matter disclosed that the retired military general has cancelled his Enugu visit and would be represented at the event instead.
Recall that pro-Biafran group, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), released a statement telling the Nigerian leader to “stay clear” of Enugu State and Southeast Nigeria.
Members of the group are holding a peaceful protest in Enugu as of the time of filing this report (see photos).
