The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has heaped the blame of the recent killings perpetrated by Fulani herdsmen in the state on the federal government.
Blaming the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration for the attacks on indgenes of the state, the state Governor vowed not to repeal the anti-grazing law.
Ortom made this declaration while speaking at the mass burial for 73 victims of herdsmen attacks in Makurdi.
He insisted that his administration would not be intimidated by threats posed by the herdsmen adding that the law in the state continues to prohibit the movement of livestock on foot within the state.
Ortom further added; “It is the best way to go and it is in conformity with global best practices.”
He further maintained that the continued silence of the president on the matter has aided the herdsmen’ s continued attacks on Nigerians.
Ortom in addition called for the arrest of the leadership of the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore.
