ASUP Calls Of Nationwide Strike 15 Days After

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, has in its latest statement released announced the suspension of its nationwide strike which was embarked upon 15 days ago.

The latest development was made known by the National President of ASUP, Mr Usman Duste.

Usman Duste made the announcement on Wednesday during the union’s 14th National Delegates Conference which held at the Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi state.

Recall that ASUP had embarked on the industrial action on November 13 due to the federal government’s failure to implement the 2016 agreements reached with the union.

Duste however noted that the union was moved to suspend the industrial action after a series of meetings it held with the federal government on the matter.

Duste also noted that the federal government agreed to a Memorandum of Settlement and Action (MoS) with ASUP on each of the issues raised by the union.
