Anambra Police sweep “tax” collectors and hoodlums in Onitsha and environs

 Police began a clampdown on illegal tax collectors at different motor parks and other locations in Onitsha, Obosi and other places in Anambra. So far, dozens of suspects were arrested and handed over to the police authorities for trial.

The programme was part of Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra (OCHA) Brigade, state commander Kenneth Okonkwo says.
The clampdown was triggered by numerous petitions of citizens of Anambra over the increasing presence of unlawful tax collectors and hoodlums around the usually peaceful Southeast state.
