2018 Budget: Buhari, Osinbajo’s kitchen to spend over N100million

Shocking details of the 2018 budget which was presented before a joint committee of Nigerian lawmakers some days ago by the Nigerian president, Muhammadu Buhari, has surfaced online.

According to fresh reports, the proposed 2018 Appropriation bill is setting aside the sum of N17 million for the purchase of cutleries for the vice presidential quarters of the presidential villa.

A separate sum of N50 million as contained in the proposed budget would also be set aside for the acquisition of foodstuff and catering materials and an additional N18.3 million for refreshments.

The proposed budget also earmarks the sum of N2.3million for the purchase of cooking gas and fuel while the presidential quarters would get the sum of N145 million for foodstuff and catering materials.

The presidential villa, as contained in the proposed Appropriation bill would get the sum of N135 million for refreshments and meals while N18 million will be spent on cooking gas and fuel.

An additional N98 million will be spent on foodstuff and catering materials and N25 million for refreshment and meals.

The 2018 proposed budget comes in sharp contrast to the figures given in the 2017 budget as the state house budgeted N123 million for foodstuff and catering materials and another N97 million for refreshment and meals.

The 2017 budget also earmarked N114 million for foodstuff and catering materials supply to the president’ office.
