New United States president Donald Trump is apparently not a fan of gay marriage. Among the first things his government did after he was sworn in on 20th January 2017, was to pull down the pages dedicated to gay marriage and LGBT rights on the WhiteHouse.gov website the following day.
Some critics have attacked the 70-year-old leader, alleging him for working towards the persecution of gay people in the United States.
Chad Griffin, president of the LGBT Human Rights Campaign, said:
“If President Trump truly believes in uniting the country, now is the time to make clear whether he will be an ally to the LGBTQ community in our struggle for full equality. We are prepared to do whatever it takes to protect our community and our progress.”
