Retired civil servants in Imo State protest over unpaid pensions, elderly man slumps

There was pandemonium as a group of retired civil servants were sighted in a protest along Douglas-Okigwe Road in Imo State capital Owerri over unpaid pensions today. During the protest, an elderly pensioner slumped to the ground and had to receive medical attention before he regained consciousness.

The retired civil servants said the government was owing them between 10 to 14 months pensions and urged governor Rochas Okorocha to come to their aid immediately.
