Ondo State declares Saturday 26 Nov 2016 public holiday for elections

A day after calling for the postponement of the 2016 Ondo State governorship elections, Governor Olusegun Mimiko, has declared Saturday 26 November a public holiday in order to enable workers and individuals involved in civil service activities to participate in the much-hyped polls.

On Wednesday November 23, an Appeal Court in Abuja sacked Jimoh Ibrahim as the flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Ondo guber elections, appointing Eyitayo Jegede as his replacement.
