Nigerian government accused of renting protesters against AI

Days after it hired “Ndigbo Students” to protest against Biafra secessionist Nnamdi Kanu and the movement of his group, IPOB, the Federal Government of Nigeria is in the news for the wrong reasons once again.

The executive arm of Nigeria’s government is being accused by New York-based news outfit Saharareporters for renting people to protest at the Abuja office of Amnesty International, a group that is active in documenting and reporting human right abuses around the globe.

The protest came after Amnesty International released a journal on the extrajudicial killing of over 150 pro-Biafran activists by Nigerian security forces between October 2015 and December 2016 alone.
