The English Football Association (simply known as FA) will deduct points from Premier League leaders Chelsea if reports in circulation within the media are anything to go by.
According to UK tabloid Metro, Chelsea might see their top table position threatened as the FA will deduct points from them following the player fracas that broke out in the pitch when Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero fouled Chelsea’s David Luiz during Chelsea’s 3 – 1 demolition of City at the Etihad Stadium on December 3.
According to the report,
Chelsea will be summoned in front of the Football Association for a fifth time in 19 months for failing to control their players.
The Blues were last warned about their conduct in relation to FA Rule E20, which concerns player behaviour, following last season’s infamous battle of Stamford Bridge against Tottenham.
The Board is satisfied the greater fine on Chelsea fairly reflects its role in the incident and its lamentable recent record for failing properly to control its players. The time cannot be too far distant when a Commission concludes the only proper sanction is a points deduction which followed a fine of £290,000.
