Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote’s cement factory in the Ada Berga region of Ethiopia was attacked by an angry crowd who overrun security before setting several trucks ablaze on Monday 3 October 2016.

The protesters were agitating the death of 55 people in a stampede that occurred during a religious festival of the Oromo people on Sunday. The stampede and subsequent deaths were triggered when security operatives working for government opened fire during the festival, reports say.

Dangote has declined to comment on the issue.
